Dear Rotary Club of I-94 Inclusive Members,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Athena Gle Estime as Chair of the Environment Committee for the Rotary Club of I-94 Inclusive.

Gle Estime brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and hands-on experience in environmental stewardship and community engagement. Her passion for creating sustainable communities aligns perfectly with Rotary’s commitment to protecting the environment, one of Rotary’s Areas of Focus.

The photos taken this morning capture Gle Estime in action, demonstrating her dedication to serving our community through environmental leadership. We are confident that her vision and expertise will help elevate our environmental initiatives, not only within our club and District 5950, but also on the national and global stage through meaningful partnerships and impactful service projects.

Please join me in congratulating Chair Gle Estime on this well-deserved appointment. I look forward to working alongside her as we continue implementing the Rotary Action Plan, expanding our impact, increasing our reach, and creating lasting change for our communities and our planet.

Congratulations, Gle Estime, and thank you for accepting this important leadership role. Together, we will continue to grow Rotary through service above self.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Growing Communities Through Agriculture 🌱

This morning at Oak Park in North Minneapolis, Gle Estime demonstrated outstanding community leadership by leading residents in an agricultural learning experience through Project Sweetie Pie.

Participants had the opportunity to learn practical gardening and sustainable agriculture skills while connecting with one another in a welcoming community environment. Programs like these do more than teach people how to grow food, they strengthen neighborhoods, promote healthy living, increase food security, and empower individuals with knowledge they can share with future generations.

This is the kind of leadership that transforms communities from the ground up. By bringing people together around agriculture and environmental stewardship, Gle Estime is helping cultivate not only gardens, but also hope, resilience, and community pride.

Thank you, Gle Estime, and Project Sweetie Pie, for investing in our community and inspiring others to care for our environment through education, service, and action. Together, we are growing a healthier and more sustainable future for everyone.

We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources and advance ecological sustainability. We empower communities to embrace local solutions, create innovative service projects, and access grants and other resources to foster harmony between people and nature.

We work with communities to implement service projects that improve the environment and transform lives. Thriving ecosystems can support people’s health, create economic opportunities, and help build peace.

Through Rotary and the United Nations Environment Programme Community Action for Fresh Water initiative, Rotary clubs can protect, restore, and sustain their local freshwater ecosystems.
